What are dental implants?
Tooth loss can occur due to gum disease – periodontal disease, caries, trauma, etc. The problem affects all age groups, including young people. Dental implants are the best and modern choice for replacing missing teeth. They are high-quality artificial teeth that are placed in place of missing teeth in a way that guarantees health and durability over time. Dental implants make it possible to restore with crowns and bridges where tooth roots are missing. They are implanted in the bone, in place of the lost tooth root, providing support. Replacing a lost tooth with a dental implant can significantly improve a patient’s quality of life and health.
Dental implant systems are usually made of materials that follow the international consensus standards of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) or ASTM International. These standards detail what makes a material safe.

types of implants
Titanium implants
A dental implant is a small titanium screw that is surgically placed in the jawbone below the gum line. The implant fuses with the jawbone, creating a stable foundation for tooth restoration. With decades of clinical success and innovation, titanium implants have become one of the most successful medical devices. However, many patients are afraid because of fears related to allergic reactions to titanium, but this probability is small.
Zirconia implants
Zirconium implants are an alternative to titanium implants. Zirconium, also known as zirconium dioxide, is a ceramic consisting of the elements zirconium and oxygen. Zirconium implants do not cause allergies. This new technology is the most advanced and harmless for tooth restoration. Unlike other metal and metal-ceramic crowns, zirconium crowns have a high level of biocompatibility.
Dental bridge
A bridge consists of two crowns on either side of the missing teeth. The treatment process is the same as for a single tooth restoration. The advantages of a bridge over implants are that you can safely replace several missing teeth without replacing every tooth.
