The Path to IVF: Preparing Body and Mind

В тази статия:

In vitro fertilization (IVF) is one of the most advanced and reliable options for couples facing challenges with conception. IVF is not merely a medical procedure—it is a deeply personal journey that begins the moment we realize that preparing for new life requires not only medical steps but also nurturing our emotional strength and physical harmony.

At Via Clinics, we believe that the true chance for success lies in a holistic approach—because every family deserves strong support.

There is no one-size-fits-all path—each couple follows their own

There is no universal formula that fits everyone. That’s why, from the very beginning, it is essential to approach the process with care, understanding, and personalized attention tailored to each couple’s specific needs and circumstances.

Physical Preparation

Before starting the IVF process, it is advisable to:

  • Maintain a healthy diet – rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. A good diet supports hormonal balance and overall reproductive health.
  • Engage in regular physical activity – moderate exercise improves circulation, reduces stress, and helps maintain a healthy body weight.
  • Manage chronic conditions – such as diabetes, hormonal imbalances, and other health issues that can affect the chances of successful conception, making it important to monitor them closely.
  • Take supplements recommended by your specialist – during consultations, you will discuss the need for folic acid and other essential vitamins and minerals that support your body’s preparation.

During the initial consultations, some standard medical tests are usually performed. These help the specialists get a clearer picture of both partners’ health.

This includes blood work, viral screenings, and—if needed—additional hormonal or reproductive testing.
For women: complete blood count, HBsAg, Anti-HBs, HIV, HCV, Rubella IgG, Rubella IgM, VDRL (and possibly Prolactin, TSH, T3, T4, FSH, E2);
For men: complete blood count, HBsAg, Anti-HBs, HIV, HCV, VDRL (and possibly semen analysis).

Emotional Preparation

Preparing your mind is just as important as preparing your body.

  • Be well-informed – having a clear understanding of the steps involved and the possible outcomes helps you reduce fear and approach the process with confidence.
  • Supportive communication – open dialogue with your partner, close ones, and healthcare professionals can ease tension and create a sense of control.
  • Work with a psychologist – modern reproductive psychology offers valuable support in managing anxiety, pressure, or loss of hope.
  • Relaxation and stress-management techniques – yoga, meditation, breathing exercises, or simply daily rituals of calm can be your game changer.

Before beginning the medical stages of IVF, it is important to build a sense of security, care, and trust—toward the process and the team that will be with you every step of the way. At Via Clinics, we are here to support you throughout your entire journey to parenthood. We believe that true care for the future begins with conscious care for the present.
